Repurpose & Upcycle

Offering a schedule of weekly classes, monthly workshops and daily drop-in social groups! Join us to create unique and cool up-cycled items, and to connect with community.

Bringing Community Together

We offer a studio space where individuals come together to create, learn, and develop a sense of community.

We collaborate to achieve a collective impact by offering our workshop space to be rented to partner organizations and groups.

Our studio, workshops and projects keep tens of thousands of kilograms of textile and other waste from ending up in our community landfill, each year!

Details of Retail Introductory Program

D.R.I.P. is a skills training program for those who would benefit from a more structured approach to learning about retail. The program has been offered in-house since 2017 and represents an innovative and collaborative approach to providing employment preparation and individualized support to those experiencing challenges.

This program is generously supported by grants through the City of Kelowna and The United Way.

Transition to Employment Program

S.H.A.R.E. provides closely monitored in-store training to help clients gain the skills that will benefit them the most when re-entering a regular work environment.

The Beem Team

Thanks to the generous support of Beem Credit Union, we are expanding opportunities for youth! Young people will now not only learn how to deliver upcycling workshops, but also gain hands-on experience in video production and social media sharing. This means participants can showcase their creative projects online, inspiring the wider community to experience the value of upcycling and sustainable living.

Nadia and Andrew, both 15 years old, have been actively involved in the RE:UP Studio repurposing projects.

Nadia, who had been home-schooled for a few years before returning to the public school system, joined us in the spring seeking to build confidence and gradually adjust to a volunteer schedule. She also wanted to work through anxiety related to entering the workplace for the first time. While she expressed interest in SHARE’s retail skills training stream, her passion was especially drawn to sewing and repurposing.

Andrew, a high school student in SD23, came to Re:Up with a background in digital recording and a strong desire to contribute to his community through a creative, hands-on project.

Nadia and Andrew have partnered to design, deliver, and record a repurposing project—blending their interests in sustainability, creativity, and digital media. Their collaboration continues to
grow, as is their team, with the addition of Molly another student. Together, they are now working towards developing their skills and contributing to the development of a training module for other students, helping expand the reach of youth-led innovation at Re:Up Studio.

Tee Totes

Tee Totes are just one of the many products we create through our Re:Up Studio. T-shirts that are donated to us but are slightly damaged and unsellable, are now repurposed into sustainable tote bags rather than ending up in a landfill.

Proceeds from the sale of items go to support the program and to provide participants with remuneration for their work.
