Adopt-a-Family Program

Hamper Application Information

S.H.A.R.E. Society is now accepting applications for holiday hampers in the 2023 season. The Hamper Program matches families and individuals in need with generous community sponsors who create a holiday hamper of gifts and food. 

 

Application Process:  DEADLINE November 27th

  • Once your application is received you will be scheduled for an in-person interview

  • If you qualify, we do our best to match you with a community sponsor; however, S.H.A.R.E. Society does not guarantee that you will be matched. 

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • We are accepting families, individuals, and seniors in need.

  • Families must include at least one child under the age of 18 or dependent, who resides with the caregiver.

  • Total income must not exceed LICO 2021 as defined by the Canadian Government.

  • Applicants must attend an in-person interview, scheduled from November 1 - 27th.

  • Prior to your interview you will be provided with templates to list household gift ideas as well as a template for a letter to your sponsor.

  • At the interview, applicants are required to bring; 

    • ID for each household member

    • Proof of Residency and Proof of Income

    • Your household gift list and a personal letter to your sponsor from you and at least one of your children; input from children is highly recommended and increases the chances of a successful match.

  • Applicants can apply to ONLY one organization; we forward our hamper list to other Kelowna agencies.

 

Important dates:

  • Applicants will be notified as to whether they have been successfully matched by November 26th     

  • Hamper delivery and pickup times will be scheduled between December 18 - 20th (unless otherwise arranged with your sponsor match).
